About Our Founder

Dr. Joynetta Bell Kelly, DHSc, MA

Joynetta Bell Kelly, DHSc, MA, is a purpose-driven public health leader, educator, and wellness advocate who has dedicated her life to helping children, families, and communities thrive.

With more than 20 years of experience across healthcare, government, academia, and community-based organizations, she has led national efforts in health equity, chronic disease prevention, and community wellness, but her passion has always started with youth.

Dr. Kelly believes that healthy habits begin early and extend far beyond the classroom. Her work is rooted in supporting the whole child, combining nutrition, physical activity, behavioral health, life skills development, and STEAM education to create a strong foundation for lifelong success.

She is especially passionate about helping children build confidence, resilience, and positive decision-making skills that carry into adulthood. Throughout her career, Dr. Kelly has advised national leaders, secured over $500 million in public health funding, and developed innovative programs that address food insecurity, maternal health, and chronic disease. Yet, her most meaningful work lies in creating accessible, engaging, and culturally relevant wellness experiences for children and families.

As the Founder of GoodFit Kids, she brings together her expertise in public health, fitness, and education to design programs that make healthy living fun, practical, and sustainable. From fitness and nutrition to behavior management and life skills, GoodFit Kids empowers children to move with confidence, think critically, and grow into healthy, well-rounded individuals.

Dr. Kelly is also a certified Master Trainer and Health Coach, with specialized expertise in youth fitness, nutrition, and performance. Whether working with families, schools, or community partners, her mission is clear: to create environments where every child has the opportunity to be healthy, active, and empowered to reach their full potential.

Dr. Kelly’s vision is not just to impact individual children, but to help shape a future where communities are stronger because their young people are equipped with the tools to thrive.
